How credits work
Every image or video you make in JifChat uses credits. You get credits for free when you start out, and a paid plan refills your balance each month.
What uses credits?
Section titled “What uses credits?”Every image or video you make uses credits. What it costs depends on the model and its settings, like resolution, aspect ratio and length. Canvas and Chat use the same prices. See each model’s price in Plans and prices.
Where can I see my balance?
Section titled “Where can I see my balance?”Your credit balance is shown in the top bar. For more detail:
- Sign in at chat.jif.dev and click your profile picture.
- Click Settings.
- Open the Balance tab. It shows your current plan, your credit balance and your recent credit transactions.
How do I get credits?
Section titled “How do I get credits?”- Free credits: new users get 500 credits when they sign up, and there are more ways to get free credits. See How do I get free credits?
- A paid plan: paid plans refill your balance to their monthly credits. See When am I charged? for when this happens.
- Top-ups: on the Plans page the Top-up tab is marked Coming Soon!, so top-ups can’t be bought yet.
Do credits expire?
Section titled “Do credits expire?”No. Credits don’t expire. They last until you spend them. If you’re on a paid plan, though, your balance is reset to your plan’s monthly credits each month, so unused credits don’t carry over.
If you cancel a paid plan, the plan credits you haven’t used stay in your balance after your plan ends, but they aren’t topped up again. See What happens to my credits when I cancel?
What if a generation fails?
Section titled “What if a generation fails?”A Canvas generation that fails doesn’t use your credits. See Generation failed or stuck.
